A very candid look at our reptile breeding, importing and the business side of it. We have shared countless travel adventures to some very remote parts of the world and more recently have incorporated our personal life into the channel. In 2022, we decided to separate our content and upload our general travel content to a second channel @DMExplore and keep this one on the topic of reptiles since that is how we started. Most of the year we are living in Southeast Asia and we return to the USA about 2-3 months each year. Our reptile breeding business has since been relocated to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and all of the content that our channel is known for continues and we add more and more layers to it. Our life has been a unique and wild ride and there is no end in sight....
WHAT'S NEW? | MALAYSIA FACILITY
#malaysia #snakes #boiga
We are back at our facility again for the last time ahead of our June shipment to the USA. We have many animals shipping between countries and I cannot always be present for them all so when we are in town, we get to see many new animals for the first time. Here are the snakes that we have that are new. We have cherry-picked and sexed hundreds of animals for a selection that I can confidently say has never been offered before. This is how you do it...because placing orders and hoping for the best pales in comparison to going over and pulling the animals you want. How about pulling from your own facility? Don't forget to check the website available page for updates. Thanks for watching!!!

#thailand #zoo #emu Where does the time go? We are leaving Thailand for a while....headed to Malaysia first for snake business and then on to Indonesia for more reptile business. #malaysia #snakes #boiga Well, here we go again....but with a twist. We had some special animals waiting to ship from Indonesia so we decided to get these imported into Malaysia and to our facility. This was both an experiment to see how long CITES approval takes and will also tell us how long it takes to process re-export paperwork. The journey is only a 2.5hr flight from Jakarta to Kuala Lump...

If you're importing from Jampea, are you bringing in retics? There aren't a lot of them in captivity these days.
I just can not believe how beautiful and clean your facility is. you obviously spared no expense. you are such a great ambassador for the reptile industry.
Those r amazing u always have the good stuff i would take them all
Good luck with those nigrimarginata!
YES!!! The ptyas nigromarginata! Been hoping to see them enter the collection. All the best getting it acclimated. Can't wait to see how things progress on that front.
NO WAY!!!! NIGROMARGINATA!!! You guys HAVE to set this species up as a project!!!
Excellent variety! That boiga melanota was exceptional, thank you again for sharing
Thanks for the video guys!
Good morning dmexious have a wonderful day great work have a super day have a great day have a nice day have a awesome day have a cool day dmexious
You rock Ms. Vanessa!!
Idiot
Such an exciting video, amazing pairings and glad you are having so much success!
Gorgeous! Papua New Guinea always reminds me of the "Pineapple Story" here on UA-cam by a Dutch man named Otto, so interesting! I've listened to it several times and it's made me want to visit
Thats gotta hurt!😮
Just a kiss…rare encounters like this I don’t mind. I didn’t react much to it in the video so it probably won’t earn us any extra views lol
Hey Dan the rat snakes like the blue beauty & Tigers do they produce double clutches like other colubrics snakes ? All the snakes u show from ur collection are beautiful keep up the great work
Yes, they can double clutch or even triple clutch if you are feeding them enough and their condition is good.
Sooo coollll!!!
Very nice, I here reptile fauna is very rich in Papua.
It is but can be hard to find…usually have to put in a lot of hours and a lot of trekking to find animals(and luck).
That's one hell of head lamp
Good staff !
Is there a LB discount for the zoo?
If we actually charged admission we would have to bribe police to allow us to operate just like must be done with so many other ventures over here. There is no admission lol…as a rule I only slide people money for the lucrative things.
@@DMExotics lol
Beautiful!
Very vool
Nice bro!!! Looking forward to MORE! I know you will have some fun news to come! 😊 Stay safe, have fun, keep on ROCKIN' your MEAT AND POTATOES content. It's got so much more longevity and validity than all the "fluff stuff channels". 👍🙏💪🐍
We think so. After the first GTP on Biak, I reminded Apple that I don’t personally know anyone that has documented GTP’s there, I also don’t even know anyone that has been to Biak other than the friends we are traveling with…that was a very special encounter and there can never be another first time for that. I haven’t seen any fellow foreigners since the 8th(not counting my reflection in the mirror lol).
@@DMExotics And I see so many more "FIRSTS" in your future! There are those who talk talk talk...and those who DO! I love it man. (My ears perk up when the DOers talk!). Looking forward to all you guys have to share! Thank you both! You guys always keep it real!
@@DMExoticsgreat stuff. I spent quite some time with Danny Gunalen and Ari Flagle in Papua firstly, looking and finding nesting Boelen’s pythons, but also found Merauke GTP and Biak on our travels, and Cyclops mountain near Jayapura. I love this sort of content..
@@MrCites1 Ah yes, the "research and conservation"...I am only making videos.
Great catch! I love gtp’s. All I keep now is one single gtp. I had to give up all my animals but I just couldn’t bear not having any gtp’s so I kept a single gtp just as a pet. Looking forward to this next video guys!👍
At this moment I don’t have any but I have something in the works. I did have a breeding loan but it went sideways so not anymore.
@@DMExotics You don’t need any right now though. You can just go out and see them in the wild. What could be better than seeing em in their natural environment?
@@happybee7725True, but travel here is not so simple. We try to give a sense of what it’s like but even our videos do not show the whole picture.
SWEET!!!
Nice catch
These are all so very beautiful; I can’t decide which are the prettiest. Congratulations on your success; it’s well deserved 😊
There’s more coming
Simply great 👌🏼
Are you tying to be a top dog in your rural setting
I’m just along for the ride. We are currently in Indonesia expanding our business…maybe I’ll do something house related down here. Indonesia seems a lot easier for retirees(especially when you buy even a small house).
You're making a beautiful beautiful zoo, hope the public can view it to and you can educate people
Is fake
Most of UA-cam is fake but we don’t care about views so we keep it real.
Is fale
Love you're set up, videos are the best
🙏
Yay! Definitely a feel good video :)
The ones at 9:15 are orthriophis taeniurus ssp. correct ? The ones that originate from Thailand and Burma?
The same ones from our previous videos, they are a small locality found in Nan. Which subspecies I am not sure. They do not range all throughout Thailand and I am unaware if they range into Myanmar....they may to a very tiny extent but even the border right now is a dangerous place.
I would really like some of those Ridleyi. I'll figure out how to get some from you one day.😂
You don't have to figure out how to get them, we import surplus into the USA every June and some years we add a December run(this year likely).
I'll message you about doing something on one of those upcoming imports
Good morning guys! Thanks for the video! I was checking out the availability section of your website and you’d mentioned that if someone were to order venomous animals, you’d require them to order enough to fill one big box. How many animals does that take on average? Will you ship venomous and non venomous together?
If someone wants to order enough to fill a box, we can take it into LAX and our broker will forward freight. It can be mixed with Boiga but non-venomous I am not sure. This year IATA has imposed new regulations that would require us to divide boxes into "compartments" if mixed venomous and non and I am not sure right now how USFWS is interpreting the verbiage. For Malaysian species, permit applications went in three months ago so it cannot be last minute.
@@DMExotics I understand. How many animals would make up the large box you’d mentioned?
@@StLMikie No idea, it is one of the styrofoamed lined boxes you see from our Malaysia unboxings. If small...a ton. If adults not a crazy amount. If it is concerning, maybe not a good option. I usually import 7-10 boxes like this.
You could have even just one animal sitting in a large box like that, freight is going to be pretty significant because you are going to to pay a share of intl. and then domestic.
@@DMExotics I see.
Wow. Those youngsters looks just like one of their 2 South American relatives the Emerald Tree Boa & the Rainbow Boa.
THEY LIVED!!!!!!
Are they real
There are some really amazing Snakes breeding. Very interesting Animals and beautifully coloured, it's interesting to see the different Beauty Snakes.
Simply beautiful snakes, thank you Dan!
Excellent
What I love about D M Exotics is you have these beautiful snakes that no one else has on their UA-cam channel.
The reason I started my channel years ago…all retics and ball pythons. Still not popular though.
Hey Dan, have you gotten any of the beauty snake subspecies helfenbergi?
I can but not sure if I want them or not…trying to be selective.
Your snakes are all magnificent. I love getting to see them. Congrats on all the successful pairings. I love that these gorgeous exotic species are coming into the hobby.
Malaysia looks amazing. I could see myself living there.
💚
So refreshing to see some rare exotic snakes and rat snakes for a change keep up the great work like your videos for sure.
congrats!
Congratulations on all the eggs and breeding activity going on!! Such beautiful and healthy animals ❤
